Adventurous ink is a subscription book club for outdoors people.
They originally began as a supplier of ethical outdoor wear and gear but it didn't sit well with the founder, Tim Frenneux, who began the business out of a love for the outdoors.
And so he turned to selling ideas instead of gear in the forms of a subscription bookclub. Whether you're an armchair climber or avid explorer, the book club brings together people that care and strive to protect the natural world.
This ethos deeply resonated and so we began working on a collaborative project in the form of a bookmark. I had already started experimenting with turning words into data (in order to turn the data into designs) with a project involving a book. None other than Landmarks by acclaimed nature writer, Robert MacFarlane.
And so the design was born. Books have the ability to transport you to new worlds and so the idea behind the book mark was to literally create new worlds. Using the very words that were responsible for taking you there. 'Adventurous. Ink. Book Club.'
