Watching the birds fly into the garden made me wonder about the spectrum of colours that paints the skies.
This colour chart orders the green hues of the most common garden birds in Britain using a combination of image analysis and weighted means.
The colours have been identified using scientific illustrations of male birds. The ordering takes into account the proportion of colour, prevalence of the bird and the proportion of gardens they frequented. The most prominent colours are at the top to least prominent are at the bottom.
This small print is part of the bird hues series including blue hues and green hues.
